I recorded this album over the course of a week in the middle of summer 2020. At this time we were still pretty confined to a high degree of social isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I had been stuck in my apartment/music studio, and there was an ongoing construction project occurring in the retail stall below me that was making me miserable. My parents asked me to house sit for a week, while they went on vacation, so I took advantage of the quiet time, and spent a lot of this time in quiet introspection, going for walks, journaling, and just trying to figure myself out a little bit better. I also and made the best of my modest recording set up in an effort to preserve the solo guitar arrangements and improvisations I had been practicing in isolation.

The title is borrowed from a class I took in June 2020 with Victor Wooten. He said 'They tell us we've gotta go inside....I'm going INSIDE."
